Happiness for beginners: Happiness is achieved by making mistakes, and staying happy is avoiding them.

It took me 30 years to discover what happiness is. For me it was a Saturday morning waking up from a bender and having to put my life back together.

I grew up idealizing heroes. Characters like Rambo, Aragon and Batman were all fighting a battle for some form of an end goal. Some noble purpose. I dreamt of adventure and wished I was born in a different generation, where I could have been fighting on a far away battlefield in Europe for the sake of humanity’s freedom or live free from life’s expectations somewhere in the wild west.

Did the feminist sell out the average woman?

There was a time not so long ago where the roles in a household were clearly defined and everything felt in place. Where a man with a blue-collar job can go to work and come home to a generously sized family home and where a nurturing mother can stay at home with her children without having to worry about making ends meet. Men had the capability to provide.

Fast forward to 2024. Mom and dad has to work to afford a decent rental apartment. Poor old junior has to go to daycare barely an infant in months. Our children get raised by strangers while daddy feels like he is not providing and poor old mommy has to go on Prozac because her babe was stripped from her bosom.

Are we destroying nature or are we the comet that will bring forth something better – the balance of nature.

From the dawn of time human beings have seen themselves as the rulers of nature. Human beings conquered the wilderness and has made a new habitat for themselves and in doing so are destroying the very thing that will ensure our long term survival: Nature. For so long we have stood by as outsiders and watched the balance of nature, but it seems that like with everything on earth we are also just a cog in the machine. The real question is though, have we broken the machine or are we doing exactly what we were born to do?

Lately everyone and their grandmas know about climate change. It is well known (and I’m no expert on this field) that through the normal dealings of humans we are fecking up the earth. Some may deny it but we all know it deep down. We can feel it. We know we are heading for a cliff.

LETS say the above statement is true. Is there still anything that we can do about it? Or is the drive towards electric vehicles and green energy just another way big companies and politicians are feeding off our fear and insecurities?
