There was a time not so long ago where the roles in a household were clearly defined and everything felt in place. Where a man with a blue-collar job can go to work and come home to a generously sized family home and where a nurturing mother can stay at home with her children without having to worry about making ends meet. Men had the capability to provide.
Fast forward to 2024. Mom and dad has to work to afford a decent rental apartment. Poor old junior has to go to daycare barely an infant in months. Our children get raised by strangers while daddy feels like he is not providing and poor old mommy has to go on Prozac because her babe was stripped from her bosom.
How did we get here?? Well, it’s all simple math you see. During the 1980s and early 1990s banks needed to make more money off home loans. Increasing the mortgage rates was not an option.
This was too brazen.
Rather hike up the price of property instead. What a better tool than feminism to accomplish this.
Suddenly ideas that challenged the normal household roles had more women working the normal nine to five and thus enter: the combined salary. More money was chasing the same property. Property prices skyrocketed.
The current situation. Men and women are forced to work side by side earning wages to afford a home. Children are raised by strangers. Both men and women have lost their roles in the family.
Possible solution. Ideas like independence need to be dropped. Back to the family I say. What a better place to raise a child than in granny’s and grandfather’s home. Back to the family and small community structure. No more one house one family. And thus giving the big FU to the man.
